Hiking
A UNESCO biosphere reserve, the Dordogne Valley is recognised for its extraordinary nature and rich cultural heritage. With so much beauty on offer, it is no surprising that hiking is a popular activity in the region.
There are two walking paths from Château La Carrière that first meander through the estate and then connect to public walking paths. These trails, which can be used for hiking as well as mountain biking, offer a fantastic way to discover the unspoilt beauty of neighbouring areas. You will also stumble on a small river, Le Moulinet, which springs from a nearby well.
If you are a serious hiker and want to broaden your horizon, we suggest you look at websites such as Périgord Noir Vallée Dordogne, which lists numerous trails in the area. You could also contact a company such as Walking Dordogne, which can organise walks for you and your group.
